In order to make this move a little better of a transition for the kids we put Tristen in football and Lauren in cheerleading. She cheers for his team!
Tristen is an offensive lineman (and sometimes he plays defensive line) for the Steelers. He has kids crying from his tackles and runnin' for the sidelines so he won't tackle them again- he is doin' great! He told me a couple of weeks ago that "football has changed his life!"
Lauren's cheer coach, who was a cheerleader herself for high school and college, says that Lauren is a natural born cheer leader, she missed one game and coach said the squad was not the same without her- she loves it!
I am beginning to think that it does not matter where you live- people take football really seriously at whatever age! I thought Jenks was bad but Owensboro is just the same. They have a very nice football park with 4 fields, that they built 5 years ago just for the youth football league ages 5-12. It is amazing!
